In your care of guinea pig pet, you may come across, the problem of biting. Pigs do not bite very often. If they do get scared, they will generally run away and hide, instead of getting physical. Most of the time kids and adults will be able to safely and easily hold their pigs without fear of them biting. One good tip to remember though, is that it is good to watch your hands with soap prior to taking them out of their guinea pig run. This is because if you have some food or food smells on your fingers the animal is more likely to have a nibble.

Some things you never want to do if you have this situation with your pet. Do not make guinea pig squeaking sounds if your pet bites you. This will allow your pet to feel more dominant and he will increase his aggression towards you. In your care of guinea pig you never ever should yell or scream at your pet. You should also never hit your guinea pig either.
If you do find you have an animal with a biting problem it is a great idea to let an adult deal with the guinea pig until the problem is under control.
