In order for your fat burning exercise program to work, one of the most important aspects of losing excess weight and burning off fat is to diet. The problem is that for most of us, dieting feels like we're dying. Just look at the first three letters in the word "diet" - it's "die".

Sorry, all jokes aside, it really is pain to have to constantly diet. To have to refrain from eating when we feel the hunger pangs. But nevertheless we all know that in order for our fat burning exercise to work, we need to make a drastic decision to limit our food intake.

There's no great mystery to it really. We don't need to have a PHD in food science to know how it works. Simply put, it just works similarly to how we manage out bank accounts. We know that if we bank more than we spend, then we will be increasing our overall wealth and similarly, if we take in more calories (food) than we use, then we will be increasing our bodily weight.

The statistics show that the majority of people that go on a diet normally end up putting on a few pounds more each time they quit their diet. Sorry, I don't mean to make you depressed, but it's a known fact.

There are some simple ways to reduce your overall weight if you're prepared to perform your fat burning exercise program with a healthy diet. That means a complete change in some areas of your life style habits.

It's psychologically proven that when we wish to cut something out of our lives such as certain foods, alcohol or smoking etc, it's better to use the phrases such as, " I'm escaping the bad habit of drinking alcohol" instead of saying, "I'm quitting drinking alcohol". When we quit something, it's like we are giving up something, as opposed to escaping it, which seems to be more positive and fortunate. We don't like to feel as though we're giving something up! It's as though we're losing out on something.

I personally hated salads and loved (and still do) spicy chili food. I recently discovered that chili is quite addictive and now realise why I craved that kind of food. I knew that I had to change what I ate and started eating salads. What worked for me was the fact that I made them tasty. And as such I now love salads.

It was the same for me with fruit. I just never ate it. Now I eat fruit every day and using my new eating habits in conjunction with my fat burning exercise program, I have burnt off 16 pounds in only 10 weeks. That's not a typo. I lost 16 Lbs in bodyweight in ten weeks.

Here's my salad recipe:

· 4 x large lettuce leaves - torn.

· 1 x medium onion - sliced.

· 2 x inches if cucumber - sliced.

· 2 x carrots - chopped into match sticks.

· 1/2 green chilli - chopped.

· 1/2 red chilli - chopped.

· 1 x tomato - sliced.

· 4 x tbsp vinegar.

· 1 x tbsp french dressing.

· 1 x tbsp light mayonnaise.

· 1 x tbsp Thai Sweet Chili Dripping Sauce.

· Salt and freshly ground black pepper

All mixed up!

I eat this with Bolognese instead of pasta.

I also eat the salad with some grilled breaded haddock or cod. The crunchiness of the breaded fish goes well with the salad.

To be fair, I only eat 4 slices of wholemeal bread each day. I've cut out potatoes, rice, pasta and sugar.

My 2 Daily Salad Sandwiches:

· Lightly toast 4 slices of whole meal bread.

· Lightly spread light mayonnaise on each slice instead of margarine or butter.

· Lightly grind black pepper on each slice.

· Add some chopped green and red chillies. Not too much though! Just enough to give it some oomph.

· Add sliced onions.

· Add sliced cucumber.

· Add sliced tomato.

· Add Lettuce and you're done.

Try this and you'll know exactly why I look forward to this every day now.

I do my workout each morning now and I have not felt as good in 20 years.
