Fat Loss 4 Life - Why So Many People Are Overweight, and One of the Major Causes of Obesity

In this article I will cover the most important reason why so many people are overweight and is one of the major causes of obesity. But, before we begin, it is important to understand that creating permanent fat loss is very simple if you can create a sustainable nutrition and exercise strategy for yourself.

With that said, let me explain the main reason why so many people are extremely overweight, and what in my opinion is the major cause of obesity.

It all comes down to desire! What is desire? It is basically a very strong want.

Most people like to eat delicious food, and do not like to exercise. But, when you have a very strong desire, or what can even be considered love toward good tasting, high calorie food, and have a very strong desire to avoid any type of physical activity, obviously the combination of these two desires can lead to some serious weight gain.

In addition to this, many people were born with very slow metabolisms, and their organism needs very few calories to maintain its own weight.

What this means, is that if your body requires 2000 calories per day to sustain itself, and you consume 3000 calories per day, and do not use physical activity to burn off these excess calories, obviously it won't take long until you become extremely overweight.

Taking into account that there are about 3500 calories in one pound of body fat, let's just do a simple calculation. If you consume 1000 calories per day more than your body burns, in six months you will gain over 50 pounds of unwanted body fat. (1000 x 180 days = 180,000 calories /3500 = 51.4 lbs body fat)

And 1000 calories is not that much really. Two ice creams per day is all that it takes. And there are many folks that are consuming way more than 1000 excess calories per day.

Looking at these numbers it is safe to say that the strong desire to eat delicious, high calorie food, and the strong desire to avoid exercise, is why so many people are overweight, and is one of the major causes of obesity.
